Jaywalker in Progress

I think blog traffic is pretty amusing. All of a sudden I’ll get these surges in traffic . I usually know why. This time it’s because I finally got into the Knitting Blogs ring. So for all of you who are new this week to Moirae Knitting I want to point out the ongoing ‘events’ that are going on. For those of you who aren’t new, this is an update on current projects.

Lizard Ridge Community Afghan

Summary: This is an attempt to send a community made Lizard Ridge Blanket to Afghans for Afghans. We also hope to make a second one to give as a prize for one of the contributors to the project. You can enter by being a contributor to the project. Read about it here, Leapin’ Lizards or on the Lizard Ridge KAL.

Update: Someone is waiting for her squares to dry before sending me FOUR squares and the dark green Cascade Yarn. I can’t wait until they get here so I can show them to you! We have some squares from Laura Aylor and from Kate. I’m planning on doing another as soon as I get some more. I can’t tell you how nice it is to be working on an afghan where I’m not faced with all the knitting! It’s true though, I’m going to have to crochet. (*Cringe!*)

I believe I have enough squares promised to me for a full afghan. I’ve been waiting for some more squares to show up to announce this, but it’s pretty exciting and I can barely wait. What does this mean? It means any squares sent to me beyond what I’ve been promised will go into the ‘raffle.’ I think it means we may have one. Whoo! So keep those squares coming! I’ve told a couple of people that the deadline is December 9th, but that I will still accept squares after that point if there aren’t enough for our plans.

Sock Wars Updates

I’ve got access to the Sock Wars google spreadsheet, so though I’ve been eliminated for a while now, I’ve been posting summaries of the dead, the dying and the living. I’d love to feature someone living though. I heard today that the LimeDragon has gone down, but not without a fight.

Yarn Diet 2007

Details about Yarn Diet 2007 will be posted on November 15th. I opted for this project over a Christmas Stocking exchange. I can’t tell you much about it yet, but it has something to do with New Years resolutions and I won’t be knitting 31 pairs of socks in seven months.

Sock Projects

I kind of joked with someone recently, ‘Wanna see how many sock projects I can get on the needles at once?’

Right now I’ve got Sockotta plain socks. Harlot induced plain socks (her pattern from Knitting Rules), Jaywalkers (going really well), Conwy (just put down for no good reason), Ripple N’ Weave (barely started) and I’m supposed to be doing Bayerische. I’m also contemplating Kew from Knitty. Aren’t these gorgeous?

Sweaters

I’m working on the Pearl Bucket Jacket and maybe a hoodie for myself one of these days.

Other Objects

Dish cloths from time to time. A Saffron Cables Blanket. And something I asked people to guess about yesterday. No one guessed. What’s the deal with that? I guess you weren’t that interested.

So, welcome. Enjoy. I hope something catches your interest. FYI, I finish most things eventually. As I like to say, “I have a very long attention span, but it operates intermittently.”

  1. The jaywalkers are looking terrific (love that koigu)! And your other projects all look exciting (do you have enough DPNs/circulars??). Thanks for the blurb. ; )

  2. I found my second jaywalker went way faster than the first!

Great post! Like a end of the month recap!

  3. How are your J’s fitting? I knit a few pair and love how they look, but not so much how they fit.

  4. [...] a new jaywalker using my Lorna’s Laces in the Desert Flower colorway. I have not finished the first set of jaywalkers yet. I appear to have started those in November of 2006. Excuse me while I brag for [...]
