I’m behind. Way behind. So much so that I have an unfinished post from a month ago. A while back I bought another skein of Dream in Color Classy in the Happy Forest Colorway. Green is definitely a hot color for me right now.
During the break between Round 1 and Round 2 of Sock Madness, I started on the second sock of my Jitterbug Pomatomus Socks. Everyone loves the Jitterbug and I get compliments on that sock wherever I go. I was trying to continue a trend of finishing projects. First, I finished the Sock Madness Round 1 Zombies and then I finished my plain Socks That Rock Socks.
The arrival of Round 2 of Sock Madness thwarted my attempt to finish a third pair of socks (in a row) in three weeks. I’m not planning on finishing the Sock Madness Round 2 socks. They just weren’t for me. I’m wondering when I’m going to start the Round 3 socks.

They are intriguing, but the pressure is off now. I bet you want to see the yarn for those though. I nearly forgot! It’s Tess Yarns. It’s really pretty. I’m going to have to get some for lace projects some time. It’s an effort not to develop a lace weight stash though. I hardly think my small amount of lace weight counts as a lace weight stash. (I’m crossing my fingers.)
I got the Earth Day Swap going and a very nice knitter (Doulton on Ravelry) sent me a bonus package of applewood bacon flavored chocolate and Silkie Socks That Rock in Pallas Athena. I REALLY want to play with it but I have a lot of other projects in the works. My package arrived but I’ve got into more trouble with registered mail and my husband may need to pick it up.
Jodie of Strings and Yarn started talking about seaming miters and I, feeling guilty, brought all my woolen miters to Veneta. I still don’t have enough to send it to Afghans for Afghans, but I feel like I should at least work on the project. I’m going to knit a few more woolen ones and between Shaun (aka Piney) and myself, we ought to be able to finish this thing before fall.

I got distracted though by my own cotton version of the mitered square afghan and went out and bought a few more skeins of Tahki Cotton Classic. I broke the lightbulb in the only lamp in my new place taking this shot. The shots on the right were the best I could do with the ambient built in wall sconce lighting I’ve got at my home away from home.

I started working on the Seed Stitch Swatch for the TKGA Master Knitter’s Program Level 1. Many people from my Salem knitting group are doing the program simultaneously. That should make it easier. Here are attempts 1 and 2. The first is knit with metal needles in US Size 5 and the second is knit with wooden DPNs in Size 5. I think I need to do a third swatch with the wooden DPNs in Size 5 and slow down a little bit. The funky bits are just looser stitches. I’m going to try to get better shots later in the week. Now that I’ve switched housing in my home away from home and gotten internet access, I should be able to get a little more posting done. I swear it’s the Eugene Knitters though. There are so many knitting groups, there’s no time to do anything else.
Finally, I’m plotting how to go and see the Yarn Harlot in Portland. I’m looking forward to the Scavenger Hunt. That should be a lot of fun, especially as we’re newish to the area. It’s nice to be able to go to a BMFA event. It’s going to be hard to make it on a Tuesday.
I still owe you a lot of updates including some information about the Juno Regina I’m working on. I’m on Chart 3 and the last row of repeat #1. And oh, the unfinished post which is about my EZ mitered mittens that aren’t quite done.

I have been reading your blog for a while. I really like the new colors. It is easier on my eyes to read. Look forward to your posts.
