um now what

I have plunged a single-ply non-superwash hand-knit sweater into a laundry sink full of hot water and soap along with the rest of my hand knits. I’m letting it cool before I’m touching it and praying that any bubbles didn’t make any trouble.

I’m done dyeing for both my wholesale order for Stash in Corvallis and Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival.

Now what?

  • It’s nearly October and I am still going to celebrate Socktoberfest [r].
  • The first thing I’m doing is trying to host some kind of knitalong in the Three Fates Yarns ravelry group. I’m thinking about 2 Socks in 1. You know, where you do a crazy double knitting trick? I’ll do my own take on it – making 4 – 7 baby pairs at a time. That ought to take care of my baby knitting. 3 babies coming this winter and they are going to have cold tootsies. (I never put socks on sasha to be honest). I think I have to do at least two pairs at once because that will take care of the fact that I still want to use contrasting yarns for each sock because I’ve tried double knitting before and I remember inevitably they’d get stuck together. It should keep the boredom of the plain sock and the slipped stitches down.
  • I’m going to dye the new repeatable colorways – one or two each in worsted, eponymous and terra sock so you’ll be able to see how they take. Then I’m going to put them on consignment somewhere where you can find them.
  • I’m giving a talk over at Willamette University to one of the first year colloquium courses, which is on KNITTING!
  • I’m going to have a trunk show over at Tangled Purls at the end of the month. Thursday October 27th to be precise. I want to meet all the Salem knitters that don’t hang out in my own weekly knitting groups over at the IKE Box and find out what kinds of yarn and fiber they will be interested in. So I’ll be bringing a small selection of yarns of different bases.
  • I cast on for a new sweater, but I’m being sort of stealthy about it.
