Saffron cables is a blanket by Kathy Zimmerman from the Fall 2006 issue of Interweave Knits. The pattern calls for Size 9 40″ Circular needles and 18 skeins Valley Yarns Berkshire, which is available from WEBS at $4.99/skein. If you get the Addi Turbo needles, your total will be $94.56.
Come and see the flickr gallery.
You may wish some information on knitting cables without a needles. I encourage you to check out Grumperina’s tutorial, listed in the sidebar.
The magazine shows color #12, orange.

My own blanket is being made in #30, Blue Ming.

Another Shopgirl has burst ahead onto row #30.

Hello! These Saffron Cables are looking beautiful! How is everone progressing? I may have discovered a discrepency in the pattern…I’m trying to figure out whether the pattern is meant to repeat 3 or 4 times. I’ve outlined it on my blog. Has anyone else ran into this question yet?

I’m also working on the “saffron cables” in Blue Ming. I then have plans of knitting up two throw pillows with the cable pattern in Gold. When I get some more time I’ll snoop around. Thanks for the invite!
