I am doing shop pages for other states where I have spent a lot of time shopping for yarn. The Minnesota page contains every yarn shop I know of because this is where I live right now and I hope I’ll get to go to them all some time before we move, if we move again. I’ve been to more stores than this, but these are the standouts.
Boulder
- Shuttles, Spindles and Skeins As far as I’m concerned, this is the best yarn shop in the state. And the dog, Bridget is a superstar.

Colorado Springs
- Green Valley Weavers Colorado Avenue This is the place to go if you love to weave, spin or dye. It’s also a wonderful home to all things Brown Sheepe.
Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. - Holly Berry Needleworks Just north of Green Valley Weavers, the last time I checked, this was the only store in Colorado Springs to sell Mountain Colors and Lorna’s Laces.
Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. - Knitter’s Cove Former Red Needle West.
S. Tejon Street
Under new ownership and very nice. - Pikes Peak Weaver’s Guild If you live in Colorado Springs, you need to be in the know.
Denver
- Coppelia’s Needlepoint A lovely little shop where I sat down one day to knit with two knitters from Minnesota. The shop owner is a sweetheart.
231 Milwaukee Street, Denver, CO 80206; 303-320-7776 - Lambe Shoppe New to Denver, it’s very close to Coppelia’s Needlepoint if you want to do a yarn crawl. I went there right after I hit my nose own the sink. You’d never know that it’s near Cherry Creek talking to the store owners, so I thought I’d tell you myself.
3512 East 12th Avenue Denver, Colorado 80206; 303-322-2223. - Showers of Flowers Huge. Huge. Huge.
6900 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood, CO 80215; (800) 825-2569

If you’re ever in Steamboat Springs, there’s a great yarn/knitting store up at the hill base call Knitch on the Mountain. There’s also another store in town, but the name escapes me now.
Great blog!
